Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've checked the first few row C fuses for ignition and fuel pump, they're all ok.
Leading evidence: 'Check first few row c fuses' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'relay' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check first few row c fuses' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

And I've replaced the battery now as I assumed I'd killed it.

I have replaced the steering wheel but have a resistor in there to stop that, it's been fine for a while.

Suspected cause
Fault finding is not my strong point but I wonder if the problem is with the relay which activates the starter motor.

Suggestion
I’m assuming that you’ve checked all the fuses?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Team 996, help needed.
After the suspension coffin arm replacement and flattening the battery, the car now won't start,.not even cranking. I put the car on the CTEK to recondition it and got the same problem. And I've replaced the battery now as I assumed I'd killed it.
Symptoms are that the car locks and unlocks fine, I turn the ignition on and everything wakes up but I can't hear the fuel pump prime. Turn the key to start it and nothing happens. There's no cranking.
I've tried both keys and I get the same problem. It was working fine before I worked on the coffin arms but I don't understand if there's a connection from that to not starting. It seems weird that it just has happened at the same time though.
Other points to note. I've now got an airbag warning on the display and the airbag light on which I've not had before. I have replaced the steering wheel but have a resistor in there to stop that, it's been fine for a while. I've checked the first few row C fuses for ignition and fuel pump, they're all ok. It's just been serviced but started fine and drove home with no issues. It's got petrol in it, over 1/4 tank.
Before I call the garage and see if they want to have a look and/or recover it, can the hive mind suggest anything else to check?
Maybe worth trying to jump start it just in case the battery is knackered, a CTEK can only do so much.
I’m assuming that you’ve checked all the fuses?
Do you have a scanner?
If so check that you have not got a crank position sensor fault.
The CPS tells the ECU where the engine is 'at'. If the CPS is faulty then the ECU cannot start the engine if you get my drift,
I misread as 'cranking but not firing'.
So, ignition switch issue?
If you turn the key to the starter position with the healights on, do the lights dim?
If they do not dim it would indicate to me that the power is not getting to the startermotor.
Fault finding is not my strong point but I wonder if the problem is with the relay which activates the starter motor.
Thats all I can think of right now and i dont have the wiring diagram to hand to help you identify which fuse and relay to check.
Fixed it. Fortunately/unfortunately it was my own inpetitude that was the cause.
When I'd flattened the battery, I'd needed to put 12v to the fuse board to open the frunk. I've got an extra fuss extension there to power a magnetic phone charger and must have moved it to reach the red peg to put power to. And I must have put it back in the wrong place, killing power to a key system.
The clue was that the magnetic charger was now on permanent live rather than switched. And I was getting a new airbag fault. As soon as I moved it back to the correct place, it cracked straight away.
A frustrating mistake but ultimately no harm done. On to the next problem....
