Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Looking at Bernard's website it looks like he's changed the venue but it'll be great fun in any case!
Leading evidence: 'Replace venue' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best £300 i think i've ever spent (excluding' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend by a number of porsche owners' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I've always used John Lyon and the HPC (High Performance Club) for tuition.

I think I paid half of that for half a day, used my own car and it was all on the road.
Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.
Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Porsche Club GB: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

In the past I have read posts about places/schools that provide tuition re improved/faster driving technique. If I'm not mistaken there were names mentioned of instructors who were held in high regard and I would like to find somebody on recommendation. I have tried to trace these past threads without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
When I had a Caterham I went on a half day course with Cadence
http://www.cadence.co.uk/
and it was the best £300 I think I've ever spent (excluding that stag weekend in Estonia but that's another story....).
It was a "road craft" - built around improving awareness, lines, positioning, setup and so on. It was essentially to make you a safer driver on the road, though off course, the underlying tone is to get the most out of a high performance car, so there was plenty of guidance around heel 'n toe, getting onto the power appropriately, overtaking safely and so on.
At the end of the day, I felt that I was actually progressing
slower
than before, however, that off course is the illusion that you create if you are driving more smoothly and with better awareness.
Most reputable driving schools will give you this result - there are loads advertised in the back of PP.
I assure you it'll be money well spent!
Cadence (Hugh Noblett) are excellent. But I think £300 would get you a full day, plus the cost of using MIRA.
I've done days in my, then, Boxster (inluding the max speed runs on the high speed bowl[:-]) and I also did a day in their Caterham - such fun that I bought one (makes the Boxster feel like a bus).
Also used Bernard Aubry (excellent) plus several Porsche driving days.
Money spend on professional tuition is always a good investment. You always learn something.
You're right Oliver - £300 is for a full day. I think I paid half of that for half a day, used my own car and it was all on the road. It alse meant I got a discount on my insurance, so it may well have paid for itself.
And yes, the Caterham made the Boxster feel like a bus though you would hardly call it a daily drive....
I take your point David but what I am looking for is something preferably Porsche orientated (or at least performance car) as opposed to something which is a higher level of "road craft"....no disrespect to the IAM whatsoever. I find myself in the position of being able to drive the car in a perfectly safe and capable manner but equally I am aware that the car has more to offer than my current abilities can match. Like most others I can take a "non-porsche" person out for a spin and they are left speechless,, at least for a while, but I would like to take it to the next level and drive it with a more refined, smoother and ultimately faster technique...but not unsafely I may add ( to others anyway).

The only way to really get the 'feel' of your 996 would be on a circuit. There are quite a lot of these courses offered by instructors such as Don Palmer. Or, book a track day with an instructor.
I used Bernard when I had my Boxster S. It was a great day with a mix of track (Chobham proving ground) and road and included lunch at Porsche UK and a poke around their workshops. Highly recommended. Also, I would consider doing an airfield day. This really teaches you the limits of you and your car. I generally do this at www.1stlotus.com at North Weald airfield on 4 person days to ensure you get enough instructor time. I've done several in varying conditions and they've always been great fun and valuable.
I've always used John Lyon and the HPC (High Performance Club) for tuition. He is very good and very highly regarded. I'd definitely recommend him www.johnlyon.com
cadence come highly recommended by a number of porsche owners for learning on the roads - I'm sure a couple of them are Porsche enthusiasts also.
