Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After having spent a considerable amount of time under my car, I have a feeling that the undertrays are either broken / incomplete or there is at least one missing. I'm having trouble finding pictures anywhere. The front looks OK, if a bit battered, but something seems lacking nearer the rear. The questions are : 1. Is anything missing? 2. does it really matter?

POST 2Original post

Mines not like that. May be different on the AWD cars?? I have 2, 1 under the front and 1 under the gearbox that both cover the full width of the car 9 Thread '911 996 Turbo' 29 Mar 2024 Does the engine have an under tray to protect it. I thought it was a fully covered floor pan but mine is exposed so to speak. Thanks for any assistance. 911tt1 Replies: 13 Forum: Porsche 911 996 (1997-2005)

POST 3Original post

Does look like it. Only half of the front gearbox cover, I'd get a new one. Look at the 997 versions for an upgrade, I got the rear gearbox triangle with 997 turbo front gearbox undertray that includes the naca rear brake ducts.

POST 5Original post

I replaced mine recently, bought from my local Porsche centre Swindon, was quite a bit cheaper then that, from memory circa £120

POST 6Original post

Looks like it. Item 7 will add a bit more protection from the 997.

POST 9Original post

Should be able to pick up a cheap 2nd hander off ebay.

POST 15Original post

This is the problem - you start doing a couple of little jobs and all of a sudden you drop down the rabbit hole and find a raft of additional parts and jobs to do. What started out as a cheap entry to Porsche world starts to gain momentum.... We've all been there and i'm not sure there is a cure other than buying a brand new one for the price of a flat
