Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got my car going in for it's oil service next week.... Is it worth getting your own oil and supplying it to the dealership? If so what oil should I be buying and how much of it would I need?? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Yes unless you want Porsche to charge you about £120 for it !!! They will let you supply your own, you need about 8 or 9 litres from memory, of anything fully synthetic but idealy Mobil 1

POST 3Original post

9 litres including that in the filter. The filter is only scheduled for every 24K miles - so if you want that done too you have to ask them to do it.

POST 4Original post

Mine was serviced last month. OPC quoted "about £110-120" for the oil. Opie oils delivered 2x4 litre cans of Mobil 1 to me the day after I ordered it, cost approx £60. I had a part used 4 litre can so had the necessary 8.5 litres with a bit to spare. Left it in the luggage compartment (it just fits [ ]) and mentioned it to the chap at the desk. So I saved about 10% of the extended warranty cost [&:]

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers Mike, just ordered 12 litres from Opie - £84! Not bad!
