Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I re-did the suspension with new shocks control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, coffin arms, etc., and replaced the front Diff seals, added a short shift kit, and changed all the fluids.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In August last year I bought a 2001 C4 manual. I re-did the suspension with new shocks control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, coffin arms, etc., and replaced the front Diff seals, added a short shift kit, and changed all the fluids. Car feels great and I like the way the C4 stays flat when you hit the gas vs the rear drop in my previous C2 996 and 997's. I have done 15 or so HPDE track days, up to being a BLUE driver. I am wondering if I need to drive this car differently than I did the RWD cars. Any advice is appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I haven't tracked a C4 specifically, but every car boils down to the same thing - find the tire limits then work around them. If you haven't understeered or oversteered off the corner entry yet, keep trying to enter faster till it happens. Make a mental note of how hard you were trying to do things, then next lap back it off a tick. If understeer, trail brake more. If oversteer, trail brake less. Once you can dance on the limit from entry to apex, then you try to get to WOT earlier and earlier until you plow or slide off the exit. Rinse and repeat around the whole course.
