Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Having shoehorned a late 3.6 997 Cup engine that had been "uncorked" by ditching the locked and sealed Bosch Motorsport ECU and utilising the car's original mappable Bosch ECU, allied to some inconel RSR'esque headers, tossing the cats, and using some hi-flow mufflers to create 465hp in conjunction with a 2001 RS racecar transmission, into a 1999 Mk1 996 GT3 back in 2018.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Very cool car and team. Seth Neiman and drivers were always approachable to talk at the races about the team, car and strategy. Hope the link works. Cool short video. You Tube

POST 2Original post

Rulebook loopholes is the best part about being an engineer in motorsport. I've seen this car in person and never knew they had done all that to the Cup body.

POST 3Original post

Very smart interpretation of the rulebook. Here's Excellence's article on the car : https://www.excellence-mag.com/issue...eep-s-clothing Having shoehorned a late 3.6 997 Cup engine that had been "uncorked" by ditching the locked and sealed Bosch Motorsport ECU and utilising the car's original mappable Bosch ECU, allied to some inconel RSR'esque headers, tossing the cats, and using some hi-flow mufflers to create 465hp in conjunction with a 2001 RS racecar transmission, into a 1999 Mk1 996 GT3 back in 2018. I can conform that at higher speeds the lower drag narrow body shell punches through the air far more easily and efficiently than my widebody 996 GT2 did. It made for a very quick accelerating car above 100mph. Here's part of 911 and Porsche World's article on mine :
