Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Checked trans fluid level for minimum level and trans has fluid.
Leading evidence: 'Check trans fluid level' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fluid level' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I picked up an '02 tip cab from an estate. Drove it directly to Indy shop. Got the car back from the indy shop.
They say that the transmission can not be repaired.
This is what their New Customer Inspection report says "Read out fault memory with PIWIS and found DME and Triptronic faults for tiptronic signal implausible to DME ANS speed comparison between N2 and N3 implausible. Inspected under vehicle and found severe leak from transmission. Removed belly panels and cleaned transmission thoroughly. Checked trans fluid level for minimum level and trans has fluid. Test drove around 3 mile loop, and reinspected, transmission leaking from front of trans. During test drive, trans was slipping and slow to shift. Trans will need to be sent out for repair or replacement. We do not repair this type of failure on tiptronic transmissions in house."
Do i look for a new to me transmission, or try to repair? I am not afraid of doing it myself.

Does anyone have any experience with this kit or similar?
Thanks
The 722.6 Mercedes transmission which is what I believe the 2002 cars have, has 2 speed sensors , N2 and N3. They are in the conductor plate. It is possible that either the conductor plate is bad, or the transmission plug may have oil intrusion causing the fault.
Other than that, I would take it to a Mercedes specialist as these transmissions are pretty robust mechanically, I would have little problem with a used one, as a rebuild could be costly. Most of the times the engines expire long before these 722.6 units are bad. How did you check the fluid level?
Clunky, then it did the "Tiptronic Emergency Run". The errors are gone after its sits a while, but it comes back. I still haven't lifted it to see the leak.
Another recommended shop that is about an hour or so from your location is the
Werkshop
in Melbourne. Ask for Dan and it would be helpful to have any specific codes found with the PIWIS at hand.
When I lived in Orlando I exclusively used Zotz garage . Zotz split off the race car division and street car division . The street car division was sold to Don Northrup . He is a straight up guy and very knowledgeable . But I have been away from Orlando for over 20 years . I would give them a call . They are German Excellence now . And in your backyard . Good luck
