Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I Since childhood have always loved Porsche's and didnt ever want anything but a Porsche. I now own a 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo and just LOVE every inch and every aspect of the car and I wouldnt trade it for anything in the world (except a 911 LOL!!!). And I am coming closer to owning my dream car once and for all. And I have a few questions. I am planning to buy a 911 turbo and the 2 models I am looking at are the 996 bodystyle and the 964. (the reason i am not looking at my favorite 993 is bluntly because of the price) So anyways........ 1. Which of these 2 are the most reliable? 2. Which of these 2 need less maintanence? 3. Is the 996 Turbo a reliable car and can be driven daily without needing major service every 2 months? 4. If I do buy one of these which one will last me longer if im "ON IT" alot? 5. Which model is better and why??? I have heard all kinds of stories about porsche but my 944 Runs like a charm (so far, about 4 months) and I have done nothing but change oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, distributor cap, and rotor and all that didnt even need to be done I just love my cars and take care of them, But I do drive them the way they were made to be driven. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I addressed this is the other thread. BTW....changing the oil can't get any easier on the 996. the same CANNOT be said of the 993...it's a royal pain in the arse on that car. j
