Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

To answer my own question, I found a UK company who will repair the mirror for £150 or supply the glass for £99, the cheapest secondhand Porsche unit I could find was £175, but on a whim I tried one from a MKIV VW Golf and it fitted perfectly both in terms of electric connector and mounting bracket.

I see there is a company in the US who repair the mirrors for $99, is there such a company in the UK?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This morning I found that the auto dimming rear view mirror appeared to have sprung a leak and had dripped onto the centre console. The goo is very corrosive so I quickly removed the mirror before too much damage happened. I see there is a company in the US who repair the mirrors for $99, is there such a company in the UK? Any advice gratefully appreciated. I have also read that VW/Audi mirrors may fit, has anyone any experience of this? Regards Bruce

These are readily available secondhand and I purchased one for £30 from EBay.
