Looking to purchase a 911 carrera s between the years of a 2006 and 2011. Are there any years or features you would avoid? From my research I am leaning towards a lower milage 2009 or 2010. What is the general consensus on this?

The 2005.5-2008 motors had/have some bore scoring issues. They used alumacel vs nikasil on the cylinder walls.. This isn’t hugely common but it does happen (enough) and needs to be scoped for verification… also the other topic I’m sick of is the IMS fixed bearing… these technically cannot be replaced unless you do a full motor tear down … the 2009-2011 motors don’t have these issues… it’s a better choice however you’re going to pay for it…. Other than that…. 997 is the best chassis there is… as for the rag top… I don’t know much about that portion…
