This is not a probability of success.

Anyway, if your interested, I took my car to my OPC today and the high pitched tapping sound was caused by the fact that one of my spark plugs hadn't been tightened up properly during my last service.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I recently had the RMS and a new clutch fitted on my 1999 996C2, ive only driven about 150mls since, however I now get a high pitched tapping sound when I pull away at low revs (i.e. less than 1500 rpm.) Ive booked the car in at my OPC to have it checked out, but was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem after the engine had been out? Cheers Paul

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I Knew it was a bit of a long shot asking this question, (hence the zero replies) [ ] Anyway, if your interested, I took my car to my OPC today and the high pitched tapping sound was caused by the fact that one of my spark plugs hadn't been tightened up properly during my last service. While I thought the car felt ok, it definatley wasn't right as it felt so much better driving home today.
