I hope the inside was cleaned as well as the outside (ie: ultrasound cleaning tank) - it looks like that bearing was in stage 3 failure (right before grenading).

After tearing it apart I could have just left it alone and replaced the bearing but this has been fun and fingers crossed, no more leaks.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I remember having the same reaction 10 months ago when I pulled her out shes huge!!

POST 2Original post

Motor looks minty fresh!! What are the details of the build?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Its slightly better than when I took it out, she was a leaker. I did Nickies 3.4 to 3.8, JE pistons, Carrillo forged connecting rods, ARP hardware, Tuners DOF IMS.

pending IMS doom. Caught it just in time. After tearing it apart I could have just left it alone and replaced the bearing but this has been fun and fingers crossed, no more leaks.

POST 10Original post

Looks great and love a clean engine going back in. Shows attention to detail. If you're interested in getting those muffler boxes looking much better I know a product that will do wonders. It just requires some steel wool, gloves and elbow grease but will really clean them up.

Any concerns in PM'ing me too on product? Would really appreciate it.

POST 14Original post

It's a crying shame that Houston, the 4th largest city in the world, doesn't have a machine shop for Porsches and Denver does. I mean, wtf?

POST 15Original post

Different price bracket more millionaires and better roads less restrictions in Denver

But, but, muh guns, muh wall and muh independent power grid!

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 18619482

now this is just not true. The roads are terrible, the majority of people seem homeless and you cant even get a plastic bag at a grocery store. Haha

POST 18Original post

Cause any mechanic that can actually do good machine work is smart enough to avoid Texas?

POST 19Original post

Quotes source posts: 18607561, 18607604, 18607754

Why all the mystery?

POST 20Original post

I hope the inside was cleaned as well as the outside (ie: ultrasound cleaning tank) - it looks like that bearing was in stage 3 failure (right before grenading). This mean there is/was plenty fine metallic (steel) particles distributed throughout the interior of the engine. If not properly cleaned this will cause problems down the road.

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 18624562

None what so ever I've mentioned the product before in other threads and talked about it in my own build thread along with the process and before and after photos. These threads just get buried and lost after a while so instead of searching for it it's easier to just peek into your PMs. But if you're interested the stuff is called Ospho.
