I have a 2000 996 and a 2007 Cayman. The Cayman's seat sits significantly lower in the car than the seat in my 996. You might want to look at seats from a 997 or Cayman.

I needed more head room when wearing a helmet. Ended up with a set of Recaros installed on custom mounts bolted to the floor. What I am recommending is go aftermarket, and find someone local who sets uo track cars. They know the options. Brey-Krause makes some low rails for seats.
