Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi, I recently bought a 2013 991.1 C2 with Chrono. Love it. First time driving at night when I saw that the center console switches on the left side of the control box were not illuminated. These are for the sport, sport plus, dampers, and Pasm. The buttons do work when I push them, the red indicators illuminate. But the white lettering and illuminated surround on the left side is out when I turn on the lights. The right side is working property. I have looked online and have not found anyone with a similar problem. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix...or does the entire box need to be replaced by the dealership?? thanks Jon

POST 2Original post

When I installed a Suncoast PSE kit they supplied a new console switch box and I just took a picture of the original box and it only has one 3 wire connector. The 3 wires control all the button functions including the back lighting. I am guessing that the circuit board in the box or led’s in the box is the issue and the box probably needs replaced. IIRC there was a very old post from @Voyager6 where he dissembled a box and took pictures of the internals. If it is the box I think it is about $275 and it is easy to install but may need to be coded with PIWIS at a dealership. Jim

POST 4Original post

a few guys replied from ******** but nobody seems to have had this issue where half the illumination leds go out. ill probably try to take it out and wiggle it...I dunno. worse case is getting the module and going to Porsche to code it. there are ones on eBay but dunno if used ones would work. I found this thread by plenum showing the circuit board. https://********.com/forums/991/863907-991-center-console-switch-panel-deconstruction.html thanks.
