Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Suspect #1 for door rattles would be the speaker screws coming loose, but this sounds different.
Leading evidence: '#1' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '#1' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check loose screws' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I suspect you need to open it up and tighten everything up, I’d replace the regulator at the same time.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Afternoon all,
I've had a rattle from the drivers door for the whole time i've owned it, its only there when the window is all of the way up, if i drop the window more than 3/4's then it stops. It's never bothered me enough to really dig into sorting it out but this winter may be the time to do it! Has anyone had the same issue and knows what it may be?
I've also got a similar issue on the sunroof but it only occurs with it closed, about 98% of the time i drive with the back end tilted up and its silent in this position! Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Scott
Suspect #1 for door rattles would be the speaker screws coming loose, but this sounds different. In any case the process for locating and fixing it is the same i.e. take off trim and membrane and check for loose screws. I would suggest you buy a new membrane and trim clips before you even start.
Edited and Deleted. I just re read your post!
I thought your problem was when the window was down.
I suspect you need to open it up and tighten everything up, I’d replace the regulator at the same time.
With regards to the window, I'm guessing you just need to adjust the regulator as it sounds as though the window isn't sat in it's correct position. Visually inspect the window on both sides to see if they are aligned different to each other. Could even be the door latch striker (the metal loop on a plate on the chassis that the door mechanism locks on to) that needs adjustment to bring the door in a bit. Your passenger door and window is your best friend here to show you what's wrong with the driver side.
As for the sunroof......I have no interest or knowledge in such lame instruments.
Mine has recently started rattling too. Interestingly, the last work done was to fix a window regulator.... Its going in for its service later this month so I'll ask them to take a look at the same time.
