Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd had my original set of 3.4 injectors cleaned/tested for my 3.7 engine rebuild, but one of them on bank 2 looks like it's leaking down and causing issues with cold starts.
Leading evidence: 'Clean /' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'problem' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean /' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It's even worth getting your injectors working at their optimum even if you don't suspect a problem.

Suggestion
Not many places specialise in petrol injector cleaning but these guys do and did mine.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Suggestion
Regarding the injectors , I've seen kits to replace the O rings and filter but if it's dribbling into the engine it's a more serious and unfixable issue internally with the unit...correct?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking to source a set of 996.2 Bosch fuel injectors (0280156053 / 99660612200) and struggling to find any in stock anywhere online.
Usual suspects, both Porsche (D911) and general car parts (Autodoc etc), list them but are all out, with no date for them to come back in stock.
I'm sure Porsche have them in stock, but they want £300ish EACH, which is a LOT more than the Bosch price of £80ish for the exact same part.
Anyone know where I might be able to source some? Or has anyone got an unused set they want to sell on?
OPC want about £225 per injector when you add the VAT.
Rosepassion seem to have them, but with VAT and delivery it gets pretty pricey too for a full set.
Spoke to D911 and they are saying they should get stock on the 31st August, but that sounds like a placeholder date from the supplier to me.
Given these were about £50 each not long ago there is clearly a supply chain issue somewhere!
Correct part but not in stock. D911 never actually show stock status on the website. Bit cheeky.
Spoke to them earlier today and they have them on backorder, supposedly due end of August.
Nothing at ECP (or its sister brands). Searched high and low for these. No stock anywhere (that isn't crazy money).

The guys in the US (Jake Raby etc) recommend that all 3.4's are better off with a set of the later 3.6 injectors these days. Better fuel atomisation, better flow rate, hasn't got 20 years of wear on them etc.
At this point I think I'm going to replace all six as a belt and braces job.

Appreciate the heads up, but don't think I'd be comfortable going with anything other than Bosch/OEM for something as important as an injector. Never hear anything but bad things about cheap Chinese injectors.
An alternative if you are suspecting a dodgy injector is to get them tested and cleaned. I sent my 944 injectors off recently and for £10 per injector to test and clean, you get a full before and after report to say whether they are working fine or not. I just posted them out and they sent them back when done, took about 5 days door to door.

It's even worth getting your injectors working at their optimum even if you don't suspect a problem. All 4 of my 944 injectors improved in performance.
Just in the process (today) of taking my engine out on the 3.4 C2 996.
Reason for doing this is Y cable must be shagged as it won't crank when warm and I have a strong smell of petrol in the engine oil which must be dribbling out of at least one injector. Also my oil level indicator isn't working and there's an oil leak form the AOS bellows. So a few jobs to do.
Regarding the injectors , I've seen kits to replace the O rings and filter but if it's dribbling into the engine it's a more serious and unfixable issue internally with the unit...correct?
I'm not that flush just now and don't really want to fork out £500 for a new set of six but ...
