Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyhow, I the TB came in today so I changed it, cleaned the MAF sensor and reassembled.
Leading evidence: 'Clean maf sensor and reassembled' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean maf sensor and reassembled' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Ran it back around the block and it did not throw any more codes and ran fantastic (like I had hoped when I bought it).

No, no programming is necessary to replace E-throttle, but just a recalibration by turning the key ON without starting, and wait for a couple minutes...the calibration will be done automatically..

If I replace the TB, do I also then have to get the car reprogramed?

Someone familiar with that will surely chime in or you could search for 'resetting e-gas'

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought a '02 996 for my wife. I didn't have it a day before I took it to get wrapped. It turned out great and she loves it. BUT she hasn't been able to drive it because it stalled on the way home from the shop and went into limp mode. I had a friend pull codes and it pointed to a TPS or in this case a Throttle body (TB). Sorry, long way to my question. If I replace the TB, do I also then have to get the car reprogramed?
No.
Edit: sorry, I replied too quickly and was thinking of a TB with a cable but yours has e-gas. I am still quite sure it will not require programming but it will require a certain routine to have it adapt to the engine controller/DME.

That said, I think you should NOT just assume the Throttle Body is bad and throw one at it, you should post the codes, and even clear them and road test again to see what codes are presented...
You could have a Pedal Sensor faulty, a wiring fault, or even air/vacuum leaks will cause codes that says something to the effect of "throttle jacking unit"..so when you ask if programming is necessary that means you're not familiar with the system, so a little some investigation and advice would be smart..
Thanks for your input. I should have offered more info up front. I did pull the codes with an autel scanner (P1122. 5525, P1502)I cleared them and drove it around the block. It stalled as we pulled it into the garage and it gave the same codes. Yes it's pretty obvious that I am unfamiliar. But I am mechanically inclined and I have a strong desire to learn.
