The Boxster S is getting a big brother, a GT3 to be my new track toy, no more VOS smoke from tracking the BS.
Well I’ve succumb to the lure of the GT3 and put a deposit on a very nice 2004 996 GT3 with only 7200 miles on the clock. The car is in excellent condition and well cared for by its present owner. I was looking for a used 997 GT3 but the prices are still quite high and with the Canadian dollar doing so poor against the US dollar it just didn’t make sense at this time. Anyway now I have to look at two P-cars in the garage for the next 6 months till spring.
Some of the option on the car:
Canadian Spec Vehicle
Only 12,000KMS
No accidents, Mint Car
Automatic Climate Control
Black Porsche Mats
Bi-Xenon Headlamp Pkg
Porsche Crest in Headrests
Guards Red Seat Belts
Red Deviating Stitching
Thicker Steering Wheel
All Maintenance Records/History
Car Cover/Battery Saver

Congrats. You'll love the GT3 - especially if you track it. I did exactly the same thing - bought an '04 GT3 to go with my '06 CS in September. 4 track days so far and as good as the CS, the GT3 is better. Can't wait for next spring to really get some serious track time and really learn the car. My problem is I have a 2 car garage and I wanted to keep the CS.... Solution was a 4 post lift. Now I've got a 3 car garage with stacked Porsches.
Enjoy.
Congrats! Now I'll have to go to the DE's next spring for sure!
We should all have such "problems"!
Congratulations. The GT3 is definitely exciting to drive. I have been having so much fun with the GT3. Weird, because it is the first used car I have bought since 1973.
MY 2004 GT3
Thanks, this is also the first used vehicle I have purchased since 1988, but with only 7200 miles on the clock it is in like new condition. I'm looking forward to spring and getting the car onto a track for some excitement.
It snowed here again last night so no chance to sneak it out for some test drives.
Many Congrats, hope ur snow is over soon so u can try it out more

"Sir! We're surrounded!" - "Excellent! We can shoot in any direction!"
A good car will get you from point A to point B. A great car... will just get you into trouble!
Big brother (GT3) is now sitting in the garage waiting till spring, got it home from Calgary on Sunday. I trailered it home so I have not had a chance to take it for a decent drive, the wait is going to kill me. :helpme:

Congrats. Beautiful car.
The mythology surrounding the GT3 is that someone like myself- a Cayman DE guy- would be dead in a fiery crash within a lap or two. According to the chest- thumpers, driving the GT3 is like this:
A GT3 (not the RS) has been a dream car of mine for a while. Throttle steering and letting the weight of the rear end step out a bit to execute a perfect 911-style turn hooked me the first time I experienced it. I just read the Excellence article on the M96 engine and it is clear that a GT3 is a different species. (Duh...but the details of our internals are very interesting)
So. What is the real story? GT3? Race drivers need only apply?
