Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

If you are replacing the FPR with a Bosch Motorsport 5Bar, Protc Adjustable 6Bar or standard VAG FPR, you may need to remove the FPR Vaccum Port which is an obstruction and is not used in Porsches 996 and 986 installation.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 5Original post

In my 2003 Boxster S, a series 986.2 and 996.2, the Fuel Pressure Regulator, is attached to the fuel sending unit. If you are replacing the FPR with a Bosch Motorsport 5Bar, Protc Adjustable 6Bar or standard VAG FPR, you may need to remove the FPR Vaccum Port which is an obstruction and is not used in Porsches 996 and 986 installation. Some 997 and 987 have a simpler Fuel Sending unit, very similar to the 996.1 and 986.1. I have retrofitted my 986.2 with the fuel system from a 2007 997 S Both Fuel Pump and Fuel sending unit. Please let me know how you get on with this. Cheers mate.
