Every morning this is what I look at....

For whatever reason that site doesn't seem to allow photo linking but will let you load them directly, you might try uploading them to your gallery here instead which will let you link them with no problem.
Also this topic doesn't belong in the Cayman Chat forum but rather the Porsche other models forum.
I don't blame you. I test drove a 996 GT3 (althought not RS) 3 months ago and its drivetrain was one of the best I've ever driven.
I also test drove the new 9A1 997.2 but it didn't have the soul like the GT3.
Congratulations. That is a beautiful car.
All business.
I know how you feel. Congratulations.
I really like my CaymanS, but after buying a GT3, I understand how the stock cayman is pure a street car like the Carerra or Turbo. Which is not a bad thing.
The 996GT3 and the GT3RS are insane. Very edgy, darty, and a handful to drive when you put the pedal to the floor. Like a good road race car, its ready to turn-in every moment. This is a car that you have to actually drive. No PSM to save you. Oh and the clutch is a workout. Not a car for the average Porsche owner. Which is why I could find a 2004 996GT3 with only 3900 miles on the clock.
MY GT3 Photos
Sweet car Glenn!.....been a while sisce I've been out to MSR, can't wait to see what you can do with the GT3.
You need to come out and see how the Cayman responds now with the motons and solid tranny mounts. Those solid tranny mounts really transfers the power instantly.
I am only taking parade laps in the GT3. But when I take corners at 5/10 in the GT3 I am still be at the same top speed at the end of the straight as the Cayman going 10/10 all the way around the corner. On the main straight that is 112.
The difference in acceleration is hard to grasp, until you have driven the GT3.
Congrats from another CS owner who recently added a 996GT3 ('04) to the fleet. As good as it may be to look at, it's WAY better to drive. As Glenn said, it's raw, a handful, a real drivers car, and as the speed increases (on the track), the better the GT3 handles - and feels.
Sheesh... All the former GT3 hunters are going over to the Dark Side!!
Mooty, Bob, GT3girl (nee Caygirl), and now Glenn. I bet K-Man S will be next, as a complement to his web growth strategy of setting up a "GT3club".
Well I'm not giving up! Crazy? Probably.
The well-driven GT3's at Thunderhill (Mooty and Bob) are 7 seconds ahead of me (2:00 or so vs. 2:07). But I'm a novice driver, I'm on street tires, and my suspension is unmodified. I think I have a chance to catch 'em!
Just call me Don Cayote!
Fort,
Its just part of the plan. You have to understand your prey to be a successful hunter.:hilarious:
I am not done with my CaymanSs. But I had to prove my theory that to beat a GT3, it has to be done in the corners. It is impossible to catch a GT3 any other place, unless the GT3 driver is making mistakes.
So if you can catch those GT3's on your track, then you are just a better driver.
Man wish I had a fast car, with all these 3's flying around. My only hope is to remove the entire brake system from my car which should really improve my entry and exit speeds :helpme:
Someday... I too will find a GT3 in my garage.
