Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I know this is a silly question without using test equipment but with such low mileage could it be just low on refrigerant and what refrigerant does it use?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2011 997 with 15k miles is not blowing cold air. I know this is a silly question without using test equipment but with such low mileage could it be just low on refrigerant and what refrigerant does it use? Is this unusual to have this issue so early? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Yes it is possible it is low on refrigerant . But if it is low where did it go ? Sealed systems are not supposed to leak but there are various fittings and o-rings that can leak . AC systems need to run to carry oil to the compressor and those o-rings . Is your compressor cycling on and off ? Not coming on at all ? You really need to get a set of gauges on it to diagnose .

There are a variety of reasons why the system isn't working; there are low and high pressure switches, compressor temperature switch, failure of the clutch engagement, and of course, not enough gas. Diagnostics are required.
