Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Here's a little video test update for you guys now that we're done with Stage 1 level upgrades (SharkWerks exhaust and EVOMSit).... First 2009 Porsche 997S Modified @ SharkWerks- Video Oh and I do like the launch control

POST 2Original post

The launch control is a lot tamer than I expected. I've seen it on some BMW's and it's leads to lots of tire spin. Of course that is a good thing for overall acceleration so I'm impressed.

POST 3Original post

I thought the whole idea of launch control was to allow maximum acceleration with the least (if not zero) tire spin. Have I misunderstood?

POST 4Original post

Just watched the video. IMO, the majority of the video makes the car look like it is being driven in a very mild fashion....so (not knowing much about the mods done) I was not impressed. Just seemed like a video of the car off the lot, being driven in a normal manner. I agree, the launch portions of the video even seem tame. As a disclaimer, I have not driven, or heard the sounds of, a new 997S. I have only seen them on the lot.

POST 5Original post

Is it just me or would you all be more than a little nervous to redline a $100K car and then just drop it into gear? Whoa... very cool.

POST 6Original post

Not really, since the launch control and the PDK controls everything - besides the throttle and brakes I think it sounds great and it delivers the well known Porsche quality in a new aspect of the car. If you get wheelspin from a launch control system - then why use it?
