I use the forge units with the shim kit and yellow springs + 1-bar wastegates to build boost quicker and hold it longer.

Why anyone would want to mod the cars recirculation and deal with the knock-on effect to use 1 x DV puzzles me, when a DV is not that expensive and none of the big tuning house that I am aware of use anything but 2 x DV's on twin turbo 911's?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I'm looking to change the standard divertervalves for some quality piston and spring design ones (forge and the likes). I would ideally like to go to a single one, just saves the hassle of more areas of boost leak. Can anyone recommend which route to take, what are my options? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I use the forge units with the shim kit and yellow springs + 1-bar wastegates to build boost quicker and hold it longer. If your car is std then use the std springs(green I think). You need two DV's.

POST 3Original post

Forge is the way forward :thumb: Along with remap and a decent exhaust 8) So easy to transform a quick car into a very quick car 8) And your licence to end up in Wales :cop:

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What springs do you have in your DV's??

POST 5Original post

The Forge DV's can be ordered with the optional spring rate kit + shims. Four coloured springs are included. The shims effectively allow you to "tune" the DV's. The benefits are really for bigger boost cars with the K24's, remap and other goodies but the std out the box Forge units are a good replacement for the std DV's on the Turbo's http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0007&product=FMDVTUN + http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMCL007P You simply unscrew the top of the DV remove the std spring and the tuning can begin. My advice is never to use the two strongest springs on a 996T/GT2

POST 6Original post

You dont need to run 2 it's just easier as u can install on std rubber hose. And good for the DV sellers!! I will be making a single kit soon along with other stuff for the 996 TT Going to make the DV simple easy fit with space so that it doesn't rub against the oil filter housing and inlet like the 2 DV's Darren

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for those links mate!! It helped a lot! My last question is...as the 996TT has 2 diverter valves...each valve is effectively holding half the boost am I correct? If this is true, then whether standard or mapped, u would only ever need the green springs since standard is 0.8bar (12psi) which is 6psi each, or mapped to 1.2bar (17psi) which is 8.5psi each. Please tell me if this is correct.

POST 8Original post

I am running 1.4bar with 1-bar wastegates. I use the green springs and 2 shims and have absolutely NO complaints! The 996/997/GT2 turbo cars have two turbos and work with two DV. Why anyone would want to mod the cars recirculation and deal with the knock-on effect to use 1 x DV puzzles me, when a DV is not that expensive and none of the big tuning house that I am aware of use anything but 2 x DV's on twin turbo 911's?

POST 10Original post

West Tuning started the ball rolling and I just kept adding until I was happy. Tesco 99oct is worth a good few BHP too on 911 Turbo's/GT2's :thumb:

POST 11Original post

Guys, I have a standard turbo with a cargraphic exhaust, what difference will fitting a set of these make. I am considering a map in the future but this would prob be an off the shelf map rather than a custom rolling road session Thanks

POST 12Original post

Heres the theory, as your sports exhaust has lower density cats and is freer flowing you will find that it boosts up quicker, marry this with some quality DV's and that boost will be held longer, there fore when you are ripping through the gears on boost your power delivery will be more linear. My advice would be do your home work on the re mapping lots of threads on here and other places, I certainly would not entertain an off the shelf map on my car, but each to their own as they say.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bought my Black Forge Diverter Valves with Green springs yesterday for £150 for the pair brand new! Hopefully they should arrive in the week and I'll get them fitted!! Feedback coming soon!

POST 14Original post

That is a really good price for two sets, can i ask where?
