Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How do I find out exaclty when my car was made? I have the VIN handy, will that help? TIA

POST 2Original post

I thougt Porsche still put a stamp/plate with a date. I'd have to check my 986 to share where its located. On my old 914 and 911 it was on the door jamb.

POST 4Original post

I think the best info , including the date of fabrication can be ordered from PORSCHE USA ; Certificate Of Authenticity. Costs some money , though.... 95 + shipping.

POST 5Original post

Hi, I bought a CPO, and it came with a CofA. Lots of letter there! Anyhow, my car was "born" July '02 (date of production)...would that be considered a late '02? When did they start producing '03's? How long does it take to get over to the US once it's assembled? Thanks,

POST 6Original post

Yeah - it's stated on the build sticker. That's on the drivers door of my 2002, near the latch.
