It didn�t run perfectly before, but now it will refuse to �rev� and actively shakes when trying to.

Hey all. Recently replaced the alternator on my 2002 Targa. Showing correct voltage now, but car now runs absolutely terribly. It didn�t run perfectly before, but now it will refuse to �rev� and actively shakes when trying to. And the worst part, no CEL! I tried disconnecting the MAF, which helped for a few seconds. I removed the new alternator to make sure I didn�t loosen any vacuum lines of connections, and everything looks good. Any suggestions? Clean MAF? Test coil packs? Lots of white smoke so potentially AOS? Just seems odd it would suddenly go out after changing alt. Thanks
