This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

My 996 turbo sports passenger seat is the same - the only reason I’ve not yet set fire to the seat is that there is now something rattling in the sunroof headliner area (just behind the sunroof, so maybe the internal rails) that is even more annoying!!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello guys, My passenger side sport seats in my 98 c2, rattles when you move from the reclining position to the normal one. And keeps rattling while driving. I post a video to highlight this: Any ideas on how to address this? It makes me crazy. Of course if someone is next to me there is no issue View attachment VID_20250921_121539.mp4

POST 2Original post

My guess is engine mounts could do with replacing..? Plenty of info on here about vibrating seats.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently changed them though! It's not as stable as the drivers seat when in the normal position. It allows some play. The rattling is only obvious while driving over an uneven surface, potholes etc.

POST 4Original post

Hmmm, can we assume they're bolted in tight enough then?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes i just retight everything. But if you see in the video is that it allows some play when in the normal position

POST 6Original post

Just rewatched, sorry, got the wrong end of the stick. See what you mean, obviously something to do with the hinges..?

POST 7Original post

My 996 turbo sports passenger seat is the same - the only reason I’ve not yet set fire to the seat is that there is now something rattling in the sunroof headliner area (just behind the sunroof, so maybe the internal rails) that is even more annoying!! I’m ok taking door trims off etc to sort rattles but headlining is a different beast altogether ….

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have exactly the same noise from behind the sunroof as well!! And also the part of the rear parcel shelf! After i removed it once I never was able to make it quiet again!

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
