Hello All!
I am a proud owner of a 2005 (new to me) 997S. The previous owner has obviously done some modifications. The exhaust note is loud!! I took it to a muffler shop and they found exhaust leaks by the sleeves, which is now welded. I figured that would make a lot quieter.... WRONG. At first, I liked the low rumble on startup, but not the constant rumble. First of all, I do not know what type of exhaust it is... Second, is it feasible for someone to want to trade if they wanted a more race style exhaust note... Also if there is anyone in the houston area willing, I would love to meet up so you can hear and give me feedback.
Thanks,
Adrian
Trade the whole car or just the exhaust? You can pick up a used stock exhaust on rennlisr for under 400.00
Just the exhaust!! Lol. I guess I'm trying to figure out if this exhaust is suppose to sound like this or not. I had a few exhaust leaks welded this past weekend. It sounds a little better. The sound is similar to a loud Ferrari.
One mans rumble is another's symphony.
Post some pics of it.
I don't think anyone is on the market for a leaky exhaust.

Sounds like a Ferrari?!!!
Are you sure it's a Porsche that you got?
Could be Capristo... If so, you should thank God for it. Anyway, you can have any exhaust shop or the dealer find out the type of exhaust. Then visit its seller/installer in your area and have it inspected in case there's something wrong. Otherwise have it replaced with a stock one.
PS welcome to our 911 forum.
Thank you!! I was also looking at other YouTube videos and it sounds like it may have been decatted. It sound a lot like this:

I can take it to a dealer early next week and have them look at it.
That sounds awful, more like a helicopter than a Ferrari
Update!!!! So I have found out that the previous owner did a muffler delete. With that said, is there anything I can add to quiet them down a bit?
Add the mufflers back?
