It just happened out of nowhere, because I tested the convertible top and the windows when I was buying it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow. I just got my 996 cab yesterday, and it's an amazing car, but I have a problem with the window going up. All the windows work except for the drivers side rear. (the little triangular shape one). When I press the button, the motor or gears or whatever makes a sound but the window doesn't come up. Then, I had to manually pull it up, and when I push the button it doesn't go up, but it attempts to pull it down, but I don't let it. It just happened out of nowhere, because I tested the convertible top and the windows when I was buying it. Is this a simple fix or is it more complicated

POST 2Original post

I just had this happen to my drivers side window. My window regulator was the culprit. Parts and labor cost me almost $900 but rain was in the forecast and she's my daily driver so I had no choice. Best of luck.

POST 3Original post

Window regulator is bad!! 600.00+ at dealer, and they're the cheapest. It's a royal PITA to replace. 900. sounds like a deal.

POST 4Original post

Well...there's this guy. No idea about the quality of the service, just an option. http://www.ebay.com/itm/porche-911-r...lVFNQb&vxp=mtr

POST 5Original post

I just had the drivers side main window regulator replaced by my Indie here in Seattle. I watched them - for the main window - they had to take the inside of the door apart. It was a very intricate job - not one I would have attempted. Not sure about the small rear quarter windows. But it cost me approx. $600 including parts and labor. The regulator was about $250 or so.
