Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

anyone know trick to removing of black plastic cover on plug so it can be unplugged? I'm stuck on this one, thanks for any tips

POST 2Original post

I had trouble with this too. It doesn't pull off horizontally. You need to pull and slide it up at the same time. If you look at the connector, you'll see a channel that is angled at about 45 degrees. You basically need to slide the connector along that channel with some force. I couldn't find any videos and just spent some time pulling while sliding upwards and it came off.

POST 3Original post

Thanks very much. Yes someone sent me a video last nite that showed what you just described. It’s quite fiddly as a friend of mine would say. Got the thing off a half hour ago and installed the rebuilt unit. Works well, very nice, impressive sound. For the next victim I’ll add that it helped to first remove the unit from clips that hold it in place, then work on getting plug off. Great forum with great people willing to help on such things. Thanks again.

POST 4Original post

Edit: nvm. more force upward and outward got it. I was being too delicate. Hey guys, reviving this from deep sleep…. So, if I’m following along at home, this plug here I can move upward but hits resistance at about 1/8”, right before the angled part of the track. Is that when more up force and also right force is needed?

POST 5Original post

Sure looks like it. The angle part is designed to push it off the mail connector. Have you tried pressing the button (looks like one) mid-center below the finned area? Germans seem to like locking mechanisms on electronic connectors.

POST 6Original post

Hi Don, ya I updated the post, I was just being too delicate with it. It is quite stout but there was no “release” button. Just slide upward about 45*.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
