Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 98 is throwing the airbag light because the micro switch in the receiver is faulty. Not unexpectedly Porsche prices that part painfully high. Does anyone know if a possibly more reasonably priced VW or Audi receiver would work? I believe the mechanism is the same but I don’t know about the harness connection. Thanks in advance

What about going with a used one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/00-Boxster-S-RWD-Porsche-986-L-DRIVER-SEAT-BELT-RECEIVER-99680318306-105-552/272274523016?hash=item3f64d38388:g:OZkAAOSwzJ5XYKF X

I just replaced my receiver with a used one from qualityporscheparts on ebay. Does require complete removal of the seat to install a new receiver.
