Is there any reason why, after the battery has been disconnected for some time (weeks), the keyfob won't work the central locking? The key fob battery is new and I can see the LED flashing when I press it. The key works in the door lock and starts the car but not remotely. It was fine before the battery was disconnected. I had this last time I disconnected the battery but it cured itself during a two hour drive. I have a feeling it will cure itself again but I'd rather not drive it around for hours and it would be good to know the cause and to find out if there's a more technical solution.

The car goes into sleep mode to save battery. It's an energy saving feature and is normal. You have to use the key to unlock the car, whereupon it'll wake up and you can then use the fob to disarm the alarm
