Ho Ho, my car goes in tomorrow for the milltek 200 cell to replace the standard exhaust - an expensive option to just replacing the exhaust straps but man maths says fitment is now free.

Bugger, my mechanic has come back with the fact he cannot get the lambda sensors off the old exhaust and wants me to replace these parts?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ho Ho, my car goes in tomorrow for the milltek 200 cell to replace the standard exhaust - an expensive option to just replacing the exhaust straps but man maths says fitment is now free. I hope it is everything I want it to be and that my mechanic doesn't find a hornets nest of other things that need doing whilts the exhaust is off. Dealt with design911 and had the part shipped to France (dam that strong pound - although still cheaper than buying in France). A pleasure to deal with design911 and they will even respect the 50% off the remap the next time I pass through England...

POST 2Original post

It would be interesting to 'hear' the difference too

POST 3Original post

Sure you'll like it! Had a Miltek fitted by AMD October 2012. Big improvement over standard exhaust. Had mine remapped at same time - what a difference that made - recommended!!

Bugger, my mechanic has come back with the fact he cannot get the lambda sensors off the old exhaust and wants me to replace these parts? aie aie aie.... Any recommendations? Where can I get the parts - do they have to be specific Porsche parts?

Are the bosch ones OK? also there are two sensors are they the same or different are both available at design911 and the like?

Nobbles said: Are the bosch ones OK? also there are two sensors are they the same or different are both available at design911 and the like? I would expect so. Why don't you give them a call to be certain.

POST 9Original post

Might be a bit late, but could you do a 'before' and 'after' video comparison?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took some recordings this morning 'before'. I will upload them after - then sell my camera to pay for the f ing thing.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Picked it up today. On starting it was instantly noticeable, then as I drove of I thought it maybe too loud on the motorway and was getting nervous. I obviously had to wait a while whilst the car warmed up before I wound it up, wow its a sports car now. Then onto the motorway and between 70 and 90 (kmh or mph which ever is legal....) and I swear it seems quieter than the original. Over 100 (obviously kmh) it becomes noisier but thats OK. So a nice deeper tone, more noise under load and quiet when not. I have taken some videos on my phone, before and after. I will try to load them somewhere. One point though is that it does seem to be visibly lower on the car than the standard, you can see the silencers hanging under the bumper.

POST 12Original post

Good stuff mate And this from a 200 cell.......Get the clips uploaded, I need to hear this. I've putting off buying one of these exahusts for 4 years. Some before and after clips may finally release the man purse strings.

One point though is that it does seem to be visibly lower on the car than the standard, you can see the silencers hanging under the bumper. You can on mine too but I think that's normal with a Miltek as the silencer boxes are bigger than on the stock exhaust. Only thing that struck me when I had mine fitted,(apart from the obvious noise increase), was that the exhaust (oval) tips stuck out quite a bit further! Do yours? Told you you'd like it Edited by stubbsy996 on Thursday 30th January 13:18

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes , the exits do stick further out. I quite like the subtle difference between a stock exhaust. Although not as protrusive as the current F1 appendages.......

POST 15Original post

Try and get the 100 cell cats and this will add more power and it will sound abit meatier.

POST 16Original post

POST 17Original post
