Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, Periodically I get this light to come one and then it goes off somehow. Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm going check the connections when I find the sensor. Is this a known problem? The image has the trouble light symbol. Maybe this isn't a problem?

POST 2Original post

It is supposed to go on when the car first starts up, it then goes off after you start driving. (about 5MPH) Otherwise, there is a fault - it is usually in the control module. You need a PST-2 or better to diagnose. AFJ

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow! You're really an asset to this website!! Thank You! Thinking about it, I think it only does come on when I first start the car (thats when I noticed it)...then it disappears after driving for a while. I'm going to double check that. Is there a workflow chart somewhere that shows at startup, what are all the checks and diagnostic steps that get executed?

POST 4Original post

Short answer is, everything gets checked at startup, hence all of the warning lights (notice ABS\ABD takes a second or two to turn off as well). The Oxygen sensing system does a basic check at startup (Yes, I see oxygen sensors), but it takes up to 5 minutes to finish the sull systems check. The spoiler control logic just needs to "see" the car moving before it can signal "all systems OK"
