Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, does anybody know if its possible to retro-fit heated front seats? If so any fitting guide, cost and part numbers would be great. Thanks

POST 2Original post

you could buy second hand seats from breakers, other option is a seat heater kit http://www.steel-mate.co.uk/acatalog/Heated-Seat-Kits.html

POST 5Original post

I have done it in mine. I fitted 997 sport seats that were heated. So I decided to make them work. You need to buy the 'bat wing' and switches. If you go for 997 seats you will also need the relay that lives under the heated 996 seats to make it work. If you are happy with 996 seats then go for a set of them. That will be simpler. You need a level of electrical knowledge to make it work.

POST 6Original post

I looked into it when the 996t I had came without heated seats. As has been said to put the switches in their correct place you need the new batwing piece for the dash. One option I saw was to put the switches next to the seat, sort of 944 esq (althought these are on the seats). This keeps the wiring a bit more straight forward. But looking into the work its not easy and requires knowledge and dedication which I didn't have! Anything is possible but this isn't particularly easy.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
