Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone! Went to swap out my 120amp alternator for a 150amp and found this floating around behind the alternator... Can anyone tell me what it is and where its supposed to go ?

POST 2Original post

I don't quite understand the pic. Where are the wires connected to the connector? The connector looks like it's for the evap purge valve right above the alternator.

POST 3Original post

Looks like a blocked off connector... Definitely something done to preserve it for possible use later... Was anything removed from your engine bay?

POST 4Original post

I just did my alternator this weekend. If this is a single blue and white wire its meant to connect to the back of the alternator just to the left of the large battery wire for the voltage regulator. I don't think your car will run if its not connected. See the only connector on the back of the alternator in this photo:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the responses guys! Car is running. Cant be the one to the regulator. Though worth noting that my regulator wire was only a blue wire?!? Does yours have two wires? It looks very similar to the evap connector but my evap is connected and there are no loose plugs there... Not sure if this is capped off either... Its so strange looking

POST 6Original post

A single blue wire to the alternator is correct. Any wires connected to that connector at all?

POST 7Original post

Looks just like the connector for a fuel injector ...

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
