Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Granted I should be spending time working on her (convertible top mechanism needs some attention) but it’s just way too cold to work in the garage and I don’t want to use a portable heater out there.
Leading evidence: 'Use portable heater out there' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use portable heater out there' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I guess you could say I have a slight addiction to Planet-9, as it is one of the first things I pull up to read with my morning coffee. And I also find myself checking it a few more times a day, and once again before turning in for the night, in the off-chance someone posted late in the evening.
I enjoy the technical aspect, with troubleshooting being my favorite attraction. When I receive my
PANORAMA
from PCA each month, I eagerly turn to the TECH Q&A, reading each question first and trying to determine the correct or best solution to the poster’s tech problem. Then when reading the reply from the Technical Committee’s staff, I compare my theories with their answers. Kind of like my own version of Porsche Jeopardy, or doing a Soduku.
Although I have noticed a drop-off in daily posts in our forum, which I surmise is due to this crazy winter we are all experiencing across the country. Since our rides are not typically driven in these snowy conditions and winter freezes, and a large percentage of owners garage their cars for the winter, putting off maintenance and other projects, this is reflected in the sparse posts each day. Living in southern Florida, I am not affected too much by the season and I’m able to daily drive it, and putter around in the garage at will.
So, I’m wishing all a speedy end to winter, quick snow melt, an early Spring and a barrage of posts when everyone uncovers their P-cars and sets about driving, fixing, maintaining, and enjoying their rides again. I’m in need of more to read each day and look forward to a flood of new posts from our Porsche community.
I'll have to see if I can track historical stats for the forum and see if the winter pattern can be seen. If I can, I'll get back with the info here.
Interesting observation, and thanks for being an enthusiastic forum participant! I'm always interested in your take on tech problems posted here.
We could type about what entry level DD vehicle we like and why. I’d love to know which ones the board likes and not expensive units, somewhere around fifty new with all the trim. I’m going over 100k this week on my DD so it’s time to do some thinking.
Well, hello
@WTFChuck
from a fellow Floridian (central)!
Just an FYI on the Tech Q&A in Panorama. If you don't feel like waiting for the magazine, most, if not all, of the questions can be found in the Tech Q&A section of the PCA website.
Cheers!
Here is the data for 2 years (back from today..) by day..
Can't say I see any seasonal dip.. but lets look at it on a Monthly basis
I wonder what happened during summer of 2024.. puzzled.
I have seen this same pattern that
@WTFChuck
is calling out across several forums and cars specific sections as well. Seems like the same.
Also wonder if AI is canabalizing forums in people going there first. Guilty, I have done this now to get faster answers too. Be sure to FACT CHECK!
Also, other trends are going to reddit and depending on whether you like it or not, sub stacks are back too. Although, I am seeing a slowdown in certain reddit threads too.
I personally still like forums. Yes there are the a-holes who are just so entitled that makes these threads hard sometimes, but I love chatting about common interests or learning from others who are cool, down to earth people.
For Visits, if you want to see if BOT activity is causing and you analytics can't filter, look at 2024 and 2025. If you see a dramatic spike vs correlation to other activities in 2026, then you might have a bot issue.
Gemini and Claude definitely search Planet 9. Caught this a few times.

Nice work! And you put that together so quickly. Seeing the numbers graphically shows it in a different
perspective. Like the correlation of posts to reactions. But there doesn’t seem to be a seasonal trend, per se. Just rises and dips in activity. I’ll be watching for an uptick when the snow melts.

Haven’t spent time on reddit or similar. Not too sure of the sources or input, unlike Planet-9. I’ve surfed a few similar forums and found them boring. The regulars here all seem to share common interests or ideas. Everyone looking out for each other, pulling together to find part numbers, tips, hacks, and specialty shops and services.
Planet-9 delivers.
I like 'our' forum. Just the right amount of gentle guidance from the monitors to keep the a-holes at bay. Reddit is almost unreadable, too much unreliable or suspicious input.
I won’t bore you with the 13 daily driven winters in northern NY in my previous 987 5 spd. I would like to tell you about my 3rd in the
981
base
PDK
….. Our driveway is hell and I shot it twice this winter in pretty bad conditions where I was fully prepared to abort. The
981
wound around the bad hairpin and just kept digging all the way around the second one and crawled into the warm garage 🕺🏾 Pretty freakin fun snow cars these are.
My town received 31” of snow this week. Glad my baby is in hibernation for the winter. Granted I should be spending time working on her (convertible top mechanism needs some attention) but it’s just way too cold to work in the garage and I don’t want to use a portable heater out there. I am counting down the days to warmer weather.
Is that what they call Canadian Whiskey and Molson your way? LOL!
(just kidding, much love and respect to our Canadian friends, ally, and Northern neighbor)
LOL, no too much of a dark liquor guy, and Molson tastes like a$$ lol. No offence taken at all..the winter has felt so long and drawn out...got more snow last night and thankful my car is tucked away warm and safe for now.
The other downside (OR upside depending on how you look at it) is my constant forum searching and reading has yielded an ever-growing list of "to do's" and "wants"...not sure my bank account will support this.
Just catching this now. Fantastic thread,
@WTFChuck
-- I'll admit that I've been very distracted as of late, as I'm pulling together a pretty cool project that I haven't formally announced yet — that ideally will hopefully address exactly what you seek. Stay tuned!
Hello, I bought an ‘
06 Cayman S
last fall and it arrived from CA just before the cold weather and snow set in here (western PA). It needed a few things, tires, rear brakes, legal exhaust, so I took care of those but winter set in and it’s been driving me crazy to see it sitting in the garage on a tender every day
next
to my daily driver. I want to spend some hours in this car! It’s very clean underneath though having spent most of its life in a nice climate. Just ranting 😊
