The problem is that the 997's, even brand new ones at the dealer, have 996 pads installed from the factory, with different sensors, and most importantly, different I-shaped springs that will not work with the 997-351-939-03 pads.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To all the owners of the early 997's, if you decide to do the front pad change yourself, a pretty simple job, Porsche will try to sell you pads with this number 997-351-939-03, which according to their computers, is the right number. The problem is that the 997's, even brand new ones at the dealer, have 996 pads installed from the factory, with different sensors, and most importantly, different I-shaped springs that will not work with the 997-351-939-03 pads. To correct this problem you either have to order a caliper repair kit for a 997, or put 996 pads and sensors in. The part number for the pads is 996-352-949-03, and the sensors is 996-612-365-00. Hope this info is helpful.
