Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I have an '02 'Facelift' 996 C2 with PCM and my wife uses it for work. I sometimes call her on the phone when she is in the car and the sound quality is very poor. Is this normal or could mine have a particular problem?

POST 2Original post

Can you be any more specific about the "quality issue"...? I assume it's her voice that is unclear, as opposed to what she is hearing? Is she using the handset, or the built in mic? Does the problem exist when stationary and when on the move? I've got PCM1, and use the built in mic, and even though mine's a Cab (so expect ambient noise levels to be higher than in a coupe) it's fine...no worse than any other car kit I've ever used.

POST 3Original post

Same here I'm afraid - I only use it in real emergencies becuase of the complaints I've had regarding quality.
