Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

BTW Boxster did get a facelift for 2003 MY but only the bumper mouldings front and rear were changed along with the rear spoiler and the engine side intakes (holes in the panel are the same).

Suggestion
The only realistic answer is to buy the bits and get them painted, unless you spin 00 and find a breaker car in the correct colour with a clean front that's been written off via damage elsewhere.
Leading evidence: 'Replace along' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean front' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Sound like any Porsche 911 that's used regularly, they're notorious for it, ask any detailer.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have purchased a crash damaged 996.2 Targa in Arctic Silver and wondered if you know of a company that provides new pre-painted panels? I need passenger wing, bonnet and front bumper. I could source second hand from eBay, but they all seem to need repainting because of chips and marks etc.
Best to keep looking on ebay, remember the panels you want are in fact also from a boxster and there are thousands of them about in breakers.
Even better news they all appear to be arctic silver................
Thanks Martin, I am sure I will find some decent panels on eBay. The bonnet is definitely the same as the Boxster, but I think the front wings are different on a Gen 2 966.
I think the bonnet is the same for 996 .1 and .2 but the wings and front bumper were redesigned slightly.
Boxster 986 never got the front-end facelift (although they did get rid of the oranging in the headlamps during the final years), so a bonnet from any 986 should work as well.

Front end needing repainting because of chips? Sound like any Porsche 911 that's used regularly, they're notorious for it, ask any detailer. If that's what's stopping you, just consider you'll chip it yourself sooner rather than later.
Bonnets will work. BTW Boxster did get a facelift for 2003 MY but only the bumper mouldings front and rear were changed along with the rear spoiler and the engine side intakes (holes in the panel are the same).
All breakers will sell the parts as needing painting, and then they've got to get through the delivery system to you undamaged.
(Don't 911s always go in backwards??)
This is a good point - the paint could be a perfect match but damage can still occur during storage at the breakers or during delivery. I once ordered a front PU for an Alfa GTV in the correct black I needed. It was then shipped from northern Germany to me in southern Sweden (not so far). The seller however neglected to clean it perfectly before packing it so it arrived covered in scratches from grit which had rubbed inside the packaging. Don't get hung up on the paint match. It may match, but due to its condition since it comes from a broken car which rarely have A1 paint, or damage during transportation, expect that it will need a respray. That said, get the panels that match, fit, polish, live with any remaining imperfections, enjoy and save for paint at a later date.
