Need some help here with that idiotic Porsche configurator. I was curious to see what the painted ext. color CaymanS wheels would look like, assuming the whole wheel is painted. Well the detail on the black car shows that only the hub and inner detail (not the spokes) are painted exterior color. My computer overlays all the selections with the car itself so I can't do two things simultaneously. Can someone configure a white car with standard CaymanS wheels painted exterior color (or any other color) and confirm what the painted wheel looks like. I think this may be a potentially cool option without being 'too much' although it ain't cheap. Thanks!

I'm not sure Dave, but I believe the hub and all inner features of the wheel are painted body color.....but a silver rim remains at the very edge similar to this......

It's actually not like those painted wheels. On the standard CaymanS 18" wheels the painting is like what they do on the Carrera GT, the hub and frame are painted but not the spokes themselves. It's fairly subtle. Anyway if you check the GB configurator it won't be available there until 1/05. How difficult do you think it would be to have the wheels painted aftermarket??

Interesting.......is that 1/06 instead of 1/05? I have used a company called Wheel Enhancement (you may have heard of them) before to both paint and chrome some previous Porsche wheels. They specialize in Porsche wheels andare expensive, but dofantastic work......often better than Porsche factory versions. They will pretty much do anything you want. http://www.wheelenhancement.com/

Yep, 1/06, typo! Wheel Enhancement is a great idea, didn't occur to me, but they definitely would be able to do that.
