Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Second issue was a double beep on locking the car after 11 seconds although the car was locked.

The window drop sensor that was replaced is the one on either of the internal or external (most likely) handles and plays no part in the alarm or locking system.
Leading evidence: 'double beep' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'double beep' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace window drop sensor' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

So, out for a spin today and I can lock the car from the inside but, my neighbour came out and whilst the car is locked he can open the passenger door so clearly whatever they've fitted to fix the window drop issue is the problem.

A few weeks ago I dropped my car off at the indie I use with a few issues that I wanted sorting.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good evening all, I'll keep this as concise as possible. A few weeks ago I dropped my car off at the indie I use with a few issues that I wanted sorting. First issue was the passenger side window not staying in the dropped position after opening...all sorted with a new sensor. Second issue was a double beep on locking the car after 11 seconds although the car was locked. Picked her up this morning after having a few issues sorted apart from the interior movement sensor that was diagnosed as faulty hence the issue with the alarm. The part required is on backorder at the moment. The problem is that now the car doesn't lock at all and double beeps as soon as I enable the alarm using either the fob or key, and, unlocks the car. Anyone got any ideas..? I've messaged the indie who reckons the car should still lock as the interior sensor is still plugged in. Can I disable that part of the alarm separately and temporarily..? Would the new door lock/sensor have anything to do with it perhaps..?
Appreciate any words of wisdom offered.
Cheers.

the problem with alarm systems is that if you start having issues, finding the issues is outside the ability of even PIWIS, the option might be to remove the whole system and put in a new one
but it sounds like a door sensor is not doing it's job from what you have mentioned, seems like the obvious place to start
it's alarm or nothing
I agree as the passenger door latch just doesn't make the right noise on opening. You know how a house room door feels when it's only just latched...this feels the same so I'm guessing the car thinks the door is still open. As one door closes another opens it seems as the window drop is fixed now the car won't lock.

If your interior lights go off when you shut the doors then it has nothing to do with them.

sounds to me like the garage has buggered something else up whilst fitting the door handle/window drop sensor.
