since I had ordered the parts , and the ones on the car were the original 2004 ones I changed the coil packs & cam position sensor anyway .

I have a 2004 c2 with 80k kilometres , ims done , full service history this morning I got a cel , so I scanned it with my iporsoft 2 and it�s showing misfires on multiple cylinders . im thinking this might be coil packs as they are original to the car . any one else have thoughts on this ?

With coil packs being 19 years old that's a good possibility they are toast . Plan on replacing all coils and spark plugs .

Change out all spark plugs and coil packs. Get the updated 997 coil packs.

What they said. Get the kit from FCP Euro so you can get free replacements should they fail. It comes with the extended bolts so it's a plug and play swap.

It turned out it was a bad crank position sensor . I changed it and it fixed the problem . since I had ordered the parts , and the ones on the car were the original 2004 ones I changed the coil packs & cam position sensor anyway . but if you get a misfire and cel , it�s work checking the crank sensor , as they are only 50 bucks at fcp euro .

no, I looked up what possible causes of misfires could be. along with coil packs , crank & cam sensor failures are possible causes . as cam & crank sensors are only $50 bucks each , it was a no brainer to replace them too. I replaced the crank sensor first , fired up the car & scanned it . It came up clear & ran fine. Then I changed the cam sensor . Ran the car and scanned it . then I did the coil packs & spark plugs . 500 bucks and an hours work .

If you own an M96, you need to have a spare crank sensor on-hand just in case.
