Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

WEnt down to our local club event on Worcester last week and got home to find the Tail pipe loose (After Market) I came away in my hand. On examination I found the clamp completely rusted away - the other side was the same. I am sure its only about 15 months old So moral of the story have a look on a regular basis Costly if it had dropped off!!

POST 2Original post

Replaced mine 3 times in 5 years, got two spare in the garage. They are not made of the best material, not sure if the OEM Porsche parts would be any better.

POST 3Original post

I have replaced 2 OEM tailpipe clamps (near-side both times) twice in last 6 years - off-side item still looks fine. Good advice re checking and keeping a spare replacement - tricky to do on one's own I found - a third hand would have made it an easy job.

POST 5Original post

Yes I have replaced clamps x2 times in last 5 years on my Dansk system.

POST 6Original post

Mine are 6 months old, but may replace them with OEM parts.

POST 7Original post

I lost my near side tail pipe...ironically whilst enroute to get the car serviced! Managed to source one from a scrap dealer....but took a while to find it. Now check clamps regularly! Dave
