I installed mattdevocustom’s launcher/software which has FYT Hotkeys installed, this will let you map the Nav button on the unit to go directly back to Android auto, and the music button to the radio, so you can flick quickly between the two using the physical buttons.

Currently fitting an new head unit and going through testing. I have linked Android Auto wirelessly and it works fine. The only issue is it automatically boots up Android auto on start up (great), but if I come off the Android screen say going onto radio, there is no way I know how to get back onto the Android screen. There's no icon to select it. On my van. It has a icon and just press it when I'm going anything in the vehicles own operating system.

There’s a couple of ways to go about this. In your apps screen there should be carlink or an equivalent app, which will take you back to AA. I installed mattdevocustom’s launcher/software which has FYT Hotkeys installed, this will let you map the Nav button on the unit to go directly back to Android auto, and the music button to the radio, so you can flick quickly between the two using the physical buttons. Message him on Instagram, I’ve also stuck up a couple of photos of what it looks like on the ASK headunit thread. No association with myself, I just like what he’s done. You could install this yourself too if you read up on XDA forums etc, and there may be other methods too, they’re highly customisable units. ETA just seen this is for the 996 units so not sure if compatible, but worth asking, and the underlying apps that let you do this will almost certainly work too as it’s all android
