Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

98 2.5 L with about 173,000 miles on the engine. IMS bearing replaced about 25,000 miles ago although the original turned out to be perfect. Cam deviation was measured less than 1000 miles ago plus and -3°. After some hard driving today I noticed this ticking sound coming from the right hand side of the engine which I have not previously noticed. It seems to vary with engine rpm No check engine light is on. I appreciate any insights. https://youtu.be/dWdpQ2BGaTI

Hard to tell from a video. But it sounds like a lifter to me.
