Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

We now keep a spare fuel rail and get them cleaned once a season as preventative/performance optimisation.

Suggestion
It did feel like it had a little extra pep running through that tank, perhaps because I was deliberately 'exercising the full rev range' to maximise the cleaning effect and blow out the cobwebs!
Leading evidence: 'Clean once a season as preventative/performance optimisation' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean effect and blow out the cobwebs' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Yes I always use VPower and I wasn't having any specific issues so I expect things were already clean enough through regular use with good fuel.

WE found a huge difference cleaning injectors on our Ka race car - professional ultrasonic cleaning linked to flow burettes.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Having recently completed a minor service after purchasing my car, was wondering if there is any benefit in using one of the many injector cleaners such as Redex?
On the other hand, as its working fine, is it better to leave well alone?
Used them in other older vehicles in the past, but a little more cautious with this car to avoid causing more problems!
i use a glug of cataclean about 3 times a year and it cant do any harm - i have an old 420SL and popped a bottle in and that certainly picked up its feet, but that had never really had anything done for a few years prior - but always have a bottle in the garage ready to slide in one of their tanks
I ran though a can of BG44K earlier this year, last tank of fuel before changing oil (Millers CFS NT+) and filter. Once down to 2/3 tank it did seem very smooth through the range and eager, a little perkier to the butt dyno. Certainly no ill effects so will be adding to my annual/5K routine.
Yes I always use VPower and I wasn't having any specific issues so I expect things were already clean enough through regular use with good fuel. I just fancied running something high in PEA though the fuel system because why not, and I was about to do an oil change which is the time to do it. It did feel like it had a little extra pep running through that tank, perhaps because I was deliberately 'exercising the full rev range' to maximise the cleaning effect and blow out the cobwebs! Possibly snake oil and doesn't really feel any different now, but did no harm and she is running very well, so all good!
My best mechanic always says put double the ratio it recommends on the bottle. Everytime I'm in Tesco and they have it on offer half price, I always chuck a bottle in.
Can't do any harm. I've given in to temptation and sent a set of injectors off to be cleaned, will be interested to see if there is a noticeable difference.

The ultrasonic cleaner guy (who raced and won Beetle fun cup etc) said that good quality fuel is a must, but "in the fuel tank" additives do not make a difference
