Suggestion

I have tried to use a zip-tie to snug it in place, but can't find a good place to loop the tie around/through to hold everything in place.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a re-occurring issue with the shift cable slipping out of the forked bracket on the driver side of the transmission. When it slides out of the "fork" I lose Reverse, 1st, 3rd and 5th gears. I have tried to use a zip-tie to snug it in place, but can't find a good place to loop the tie around/through to hold everything in place. Has anyone had this issue and fount a remedy? Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

Sounds like a good excuse to install Numeric cables !

POST 3Original post

You could try gluing it in place with something like RTV silicone. That should be enough to keep it from slipping out but be removable if needed.

POST 5Original post

I am not familiar with the revised bracket. Do you have a part number of a source for it?

POST 6Original post

Im not sure the part number changed, just that it was revised.

POST 8Original post

Suncoast SKU: PK9872CABLE This is for the upgraded parts that go with the upgraded cables SKU: 987SCAB . Did these in conjunction with my Ben's Shiter (uniwerksdesign, com). Good project to do when you're replacing the Accessory Drive belt.
