So last weekend I changed the spark plugs and coils for it all seeing that was normally the case.

Plugs looked ok, and coils were the updated 997 version but looked well used so felt good.

So another cylinder 1 misfire. Code is P0301. A month or so ago when it would rain really hard, like cats and dogs it would misfire and throw a code then clear up. So last weekend I changed the spark plugs and coils for it all seeing that was normally the case. Plugs looked ok, and coils were the updated 997 version but looked well used so felt good. Today was almost flooding conditions and it has started to misfire non stop. Really sounds like I'm only running on 5 cylinders. Stopped raining for a bit so tried clearing the code and starting it, came right back. Checked under the cab carpet in the back and while wet nothing was crazy wet so didn't appear to be flooded back there. Unsure of what to try next. I'll switch the coils around this weekend to see if it changes anything but doubtful. New coils are renline. Could it be one of them that came bad?? Guess switching a coil would tell me. Anything else to check out? How do I follow the coil cable up? Thank you for any assistance.

Good news!!Problem solved. The connection/clip wasn't tight to the coil 😁. 20 minutes in the parking lot when the rain finally cleared up and I'm good to go! Running like a top. Next order of business is a cv boot rebuild 😁

Congrats I wish my cylinder 5 misfire solution was that easy. It looks like we are going to dive into the head now to see if there is a broken spring.
