Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys any idea how the little valve on top of the tank should be set and what it's for ? Should it be left laying down or upright, i was fidling around and cant remember how it was to start with and cant see it in the book anywhere.

POST 2Original post

Hiya, The valve is for bleeding the cooling system if it has been drained. Normally, the wire thingy should be down. Should only be up if going through the newly-filled bleed routine. That said, some who race their cars leave the bloomin' thing open all the time......! Nothing's ever simple! Ian W

POST 4Original post

In the GT3RS workshop manual it says that the bleed valve should be left open: " The bleed valve in the standard production car allowed a better initial reaction from the heating system, in the racecar the valve is always open. The system, as a result, is bled continuously."

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
