Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Ask if they will pay for a OPC warranty for the first year (plus they pay for the 111 point check)?

Does the 111 point check complement/overlap with a PPI or are the things they check pretty different?

Obviously I'd get a PPI done (Peter Morgan?), HPi checks and go for a decent test drive or two before agreeing to anything but what type of things should I be considering asking him?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
First time of posting, have been browsing for a few weeks and must say there is a wealth of excellent information on here, my initial bewilderment has diminished a little!
I'm looking to buy a 996 Carrera 2. It'll be garaged, used at weekends so not a daily drive, possibly as little as 4/5K a year. Hoping to spend no more than £25K if possible, maybe a little more.
I've seen one advertised for £24,995, has done 51,000 miles, details are as follows:
Silver with full black leather; Tiptronic; Full Porsche service history; Climate control; 18 inch crested turbo alloys; Recent main service; Alpine CD DVD Sat Nav system; Long mot & tax; 2 sets of keys; Nokia Bluetooth fitted; Fantastic condition.
What are your initial thoughts please? To my inexperienced eyes it looks a reasonable price and the dealership are keen on p/ex (I have a '51 BMW X5 4.4i Sport to trade in).
Obviously I'd get a PPI done (Peter Morgan?), HPi checks and go for a decent test drive or two before agreeing to anything but what type of things should I be considering asking him? Paying special attention to? I quite like the silver with black leather but this does seem like a fairly common combination.
Your comments/thoughts are appreciated.

It is top money for a 98 - but with low mileage (not always great). Personnaly I'd say, you would want to be at £23 K for that car - but it depends on the condition. There are 98's going for about £19K at the moment (although with a few more miles).
Colour combo is a good one for reasale. Check the car has not sat around for periods (dates and mileage on services). It should have have 2 big services, the 2nd of which was due in 06. Check this was done - plus the brake fluid at this point too.
Ask if they will pay for a OPC warranty for the first year (plus they pay for the 111 point check)?
Can't think of anything else! I'm sure the other will.

Thanks for the pointers, I'll bear these in mind. Just got an email from the guy at the dealership, two 'negatives' already; one is he near Sheffield so a bit of a schlepp and the 2nd is his valuation of my X5 as p/ex is a little less than mine, but that's not a biggie as I'm sure there is room for manouvre.
How much is the OPC Warranty worth/cost for one year? Same for the 111 point check, which I assume needs to be carried out and all OK for the wtty to be applicable?
Anyone else who wants to please feel free to contribute as it's all good advice to note and if not this one then there are always others on offer.

Warranty is £725, goes up at the end of the month to £895. I paid £200 for my 111 point check, but the prices seem to vary accross OPCs. Yes and the car would have to pass the 111 point check to enable them to put a waranty on it.
Good luck!

Thanks for the info, worth having a wtty if possible it for the peace of mind.
One other thing please? Does the 111 point check complement/overlap with a PPI or are the things they check pretty different?
Thanks again!
